Lead. Build. Scale. Without the Financial Risk.

If you’re an experienced physical therapist who knows you’re capable of more than a full caseload, but you don’t want to gamble your family, finances, or sanity on opening your own clinic, keep reading.

Competitive Edge Physical Therapy is opening two new locations this year, and we are hiring Clinic Directors to lead them.

This role is built for the clinician who wants leadership, mentorship, earning upside, and real influence, without the burden of startup debt or back-office chaos.

This Is Not a “Senior PT” Job

This is a leadership role for someone who wants to help build something bigger than themselves.

You will lead a brand-new clinic backed by an established, fast-growing company with nearly a decade of success, proven systems, and a clear scaling vision.

We already have a Director of Clinical Excellence guiding the brand. Your role is to direct and lead your own clinic, develop people, drive growth, and execute at a high level.

Why This Role Is Different

Entrepreneurial Impact Without the Risk

You will run your clinic as a leader, not an employee punching a clock. You get the upside of growth, profit sharing, and autonomy, while we handle marketing, sales, admin, systems, and infrastructure.

High Earning Potential, Without Ownership Stress

Competitive base salary plus profit share. Once the clinic reaches maturity, total compensation can reach $205,000 per year. You earn more by building something meaningful, not by burning yourself out.

Leadership and Mentorship Are the Job

This role is for someone who wants to coach, teach, and elevate clinicians. Weekly professional development, leadership growth, and clinical excellence are baked into the role, not an afterthought.

Focus on What Actually Matters

With centralized sales, marketing, and operations support, your time is spent on patients, people, culture, and growth, not insurance battles or front-desk fires.

What You’ll Do

Serve as the lead clinician and Clinic Director for a new Competitive Edge location
Build a thriving caseload and guide the clinic to full capacity
Mentor and develop clinicians through weekly training and hands-on leadership
Represent the Competitive Edge brand with professionalism, energy, and vision
Build strong community relationships and position your clinic as the premier rehab destination
Collaborate with our leadership team to execute on clinical and operational standards

Why Competitive Edge Physical Therapy

We are a cash-based, technology-driven practice built around doing things differently.

We use industry-leading tools including 3D motion analysis, dual force plates, instrumented treadmills, and EMG to drive outcomes and elevate the rehab experience.

Our culture is built on unreasonable hospitality, high standards, and long-term thinking. We are obsessed with creating Level 10 experiences for both clients and staff.

We have strong community relationships, including partnerships with local clubs and professional sports organizations, and a clear vision to scale across the Bay Area and beyond.

Our Impossible Goal

We believe big goals create clarity, focus, and better decisions.

Our impossible goal is to scale to 10 clinics by the end of 2028, while becoming a nationally recognized leader in clinical education and mentorship for physical therapists.

That means building systems that scale, developing leaders who multiply impact, and creating career paths that allow exceptional clinicians to grow without burning out or going it alone.

Clinic Directors are not placeholders in this vision. They are the foundation. The people who help turn an impossible goal into a reality.

If the idea of building something ambitious alongside a high-performing team excites you, you’ll fit right in here.

Who This Role Is NOT For

This role is not for everyone, and that’s intentional.

This is not a good fit if you are:

Looking for a low-responsibility role
Comfortable staying in a purely clinical position without leadership or growth expectations
Motivated primarily by clocking hours rather than building something meaningful
Resistant to feedback, accountability, or high performance standards
Uninterested in mentoring other clinicians or being a visible leader in the clinic
Looking to “test the waters” of leadership without fully committing to the role

We are building a high-trust, high-expectation culture with ambitious goals and rapid growth. This role is designed for someone who wants to step into responsibility, ownership, and impact, without carrying financial risk.

If that excites you, you’ll likely thrive here.

Your Next Step

If you’ve ever thought, “I want to lead, grow, and build something meaningful, but I don’t want to do it alone,” this role was designed for you.

We are building something special, and we are selective about who gets to lead it.

Curious if this could be your next step? Let's talk.
